Dear all,

We are writing to give you information about the Royal Court International Residency for Emerging Playwrights which takes place next year from Friday, 1 July to Saturday, 23 July 2011.

During three weeks, young playwrights from various countries will be asked to focus on the writing of a new play with the Royal Court Theatre throughout their stay. Each Playwright will be teamed with their own British theatre director and translator who will work throughout the Residency to help realise the play. There will also be the opportunity to work with a specially chosen team of actors in a workshop environment.

Many new and exciting theatre projects have evolved in different parts of the world as a result of the programme including productions of new international work at the Royal Court by former participants on the International Residency.

For further information on the residency and on how to apply please follow this
Link .

Please note that interested playwrights should submit their applications before Friday, 14 January 2011.

Fees: £3,600 to be funded by a recognised governmental, charitable or statutory funding body. The British Council will help the accepted candidates as much as possible in their search for financial support.

We hope you will find this information useful. Please feel free to send this to any other person who may wish to apply.

Good luck to the candidates,

Sincerely,

Hush
